Sustaining Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Failure Mode Analysis (FMA), debug, resolution and tracking of field and manufacturing issues
  • Ability to do EOL planning (working with the operations team) of major components on on-going platforms
  • Qualify components including managing the qualification through a contract manufacturer and/or 3rd party engineering services
  • Manufacturing support including release documentation, 2nd source component approval, NPI support, troubleshooting system to component level
  • Utilize system software debug to analyze root cause of problems, and to be able to identify the gaps and areas of improvements in the software diagnostics
  • Troubleshoot systems to component level and provide root cause corrective action
  • Work closely with Tech Support, operations and Repair groups to improve product quality and reliability and identify process improvements
  • Must be able to provide hands - on support in engineering lab activities (System Troubleshooting, qualification testing and validation steps
  • Must have standard hardware test equipment experience including oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, etc-
  • Must know Network processor, Gigabit Ethernet
  • Knowledge of Compliance Engineering including, regulatory, safety, and/or Factory inspection
  • Interface to the Change Control Board (CCB) and responsible for hardware engineering approval for change orders

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years experience
  • Proficiency in digital design, including logic, timing, clock domains, power consumption, thermal analysis, etc.
  • Good understanding of higher level analog building blocks as well as discrete components.
  • Solid and current knowledge of electrical components.
  • Knowledge of optical components and design highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages such as TCL, Perl & C highly desirable.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills with good writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent team work skill; energetic, flexible and positive attitude.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
