SENIOR TECHNICAL MARKETING ENGINEER – PoC Lab & Bakeoffs – Sunnyvale
As a senior member of the Technical Marketing team you will become a technical expert on Aruba’s products, technologies and competitive positioning, and help to drive the evolution of our Proof-of-Concept and Bakeoff capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Proof-of-Concept
- Work closely with sales team and customers to identify, prioritize, and develop custom network design solutions for existing or potential Aruba customers using a combination of Aruba and other industry products.
- Develop and manage PoC lab infrastructure.
- Pre-stage and test PoC solutions, host customers for on site testing review and walk through, and document end result.
- All Aruba products including Campus WLAN, Branch, Outdoor, Network Management, and more will be included in PoC lab/solution testbed.
Bakeoff
- Creation, management and on-going administration of a comprehensive bakeoff kit including all of the necessary test tools, applications, server infrastructure, routing and switching infrastructure, Aruba controllers and APs, network management applications, and client devices.
- End-end mastery of the competitive bakeoff test plan and ownership of its continued evolution as new features and products are developed and released.
- Responsibility for training field teams in all theaters to disseminate knowledge/best practices and distribute bakeoff capabilities globally and increase our ability to scale with demand.
- Traveling as necessary to participate in and run competitive bakeoffs and work with field account teams to position Aruba in competitive situations.
This role requires:
- BSEE or BSCS with 5+ years in technical marketing, customer support, or equivalent role
- A deep, comprehensive understanding of networking technology and the ability to develop strong technical knowledge of company and competitive products
- A strong understanding of LAN and WAN networking protocols and technologies, including switching, routing, and security
- A well recognized industry certification like CCNA/CCNP is required, CCIE/CWNP preferred. Understanding of 802.11 and other wireless technologies is highly desirable.
- Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) and a proven ability to develop and deliver complex technical presentations
- Experience presenting to various-sized sales teams, C-level executives, customer audiences and industry forums
- Proven experience in design, development and implementation of technical papers and reports.
- Experience driving projects in a cross-functional team
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel projects to deadline.
- Experience developing and presenting competitive product analysis for SEs, sales and territory managers, and channel partners.
- Extensive travel may be required.
