Commodity / Supply Chain Analyst

Location: San Jose, California

We are currently looking for a Commodity / Supply Chain Analyst who will work in our corporate operations team.  This position will report directly into the Director of Supply Chain Management.  This individual contributor will be part of a team, not having actual responsibility over product development but instead overall project management responsibility, such as coordinating efforts leading to the product release.

This position supports a vision developed by the company which  in turn the individual should then be able to utilize all product planning/configuration management tools to document, communicate and manage the plans into profitable delivery of products.

Under the guidance of the Director of SCM, decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives, and therefore this individual must be able to assign tasks as well as monitor work of the project/program management staff, providing technical support and direction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables while identifying resources needed
  • Monitor the project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed
  • Drive alignment between supplier roadmaps and Wyse MRD
  • Interface with various internal departments to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the scope, definition of the program and/or content and compatibility of the features being addressed
  • Schedule, motivate, and effectively use the manpower available by setting work priorities and by communicating objectives and results of individual performance (i.e. Total Performance Management)
  • Identify and track component manufacturability
  • Prepare business cases including ROI models and effectively present rationale for cost savings opportunities
  • Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain analysis in the electronics high-tech industry
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Understanding of supply chain / environmental analysis and its application to drive product requirements
  • Ability to guide products through development, including the definition and trade-off analysis of cost vs. features
  • Ability to understand component specifications with relationship to customs harmonized coding
  • Must be an expert in components / commodities product costing and technology trends
  • Ability to investigate cross-section of internal needs and input, evolving systems requirements, latest market and industry technology trends, as well as competitive benchmarking and analysis
  • Strong working knowledge for costing BOMs in high volume electronic assemblies is essential
