Senior Java Engineer

Position : Senior Java Engineer
Company : Apostek, Bangalore.

Responsibilities
This person will be responsible for developing key server components of the company's Wireless's mobile web serving technology. These components dynamically construct xhtml documents using feeds from multiple data sources and transcode the resulting content appropriately for the capabilities of the requesting mobile device. This system will need to scale to hundreds of requests per second. This developer will work as part of a team of talented, senior engineers with a track record of building and deploying highly scalable commercial applications. He or she will be the primary owner for a major piece of the overall functionality and will be responsible for the design, development and testing of this component. Specific responsibilities include:

• Developing code to dynamically assemble content from feeds using a variety of interface formats, including XML, JSON, EUX etc.
• Tuning components for high performance and scalability using techniques such as caching, code optimization, and efficient memory management.
• Designing an efficient, adaptable, and reusable architecture.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results oriented team and able to adapt to evolving project requirements.

Qualifications

• BA/BS/CS degree
• 5-10 years experience in developing multi-tiered Java applications
• Experience with J2EE environments such as JBoss
• Experience working with one or more web frameworks such as Struts, JSF, Spring etc.
• Experience working with persistence libraries such Hibernate
• Experience developing large, high performance web-based applications
• Familiarity with XML and XSLT
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing startup environment
• A self-motivator with out-of-the box thinking
