• Excellent communicator – ability to interface directly with C-level (CEO, CFO), SVP (Engin, R&D), Directors (Engin*, Microbiology, Bioprocessing), Operations Manager, Project Manager, staff, EPC firms, technology vendors, research faculty – verbally and written (good documentation – meeting minutes, process descriptions, work orders). 
• Process engineering skills – ~10 yrs experience. Ability to work process concepts into PFDs, descriptions, ROM OPEX and CAPEX estimates. Process modeling. Cost modeling. Risk assessment. Hands on ability. Technology innovation, evaluation, and integration. Experience in process industries: chemical process (Clorox, BASF), pulp and paper (MeadWestvaco), food & beverage (C&H, Gallo), Oil and Gas (Chevron), Renewable (Amyris, LS9, Genencor) 
• Capital project experience – front end loading/engineering experience. Estimating and procurement. Cost estimating and procurement. 
• Project management – technology innovation & development (open ended projects) and process improvement (well defined projects) 
• Self starter - Ability to excel when problem is not clearly identified. Ability to quickly reprioritize. Ability to complete projects to a logical holding point when further work is required
