As the technical liaison for key ISV and OEM partners, the successful candidate for this job will be a critical Zing technical evangelist within the Azul partner ecosystem. The role is a combination of architect/engineer and ISV consultant. Working in partnership with the Azul Field Sales, Channel, and Marketing teams, your responsibility will be to promote and support ISV certification and eliminate platform capability issues with a combination of innovative Azul technology, Java expertise and application knowledge. Four key areas of technical competency are required: System engineering, Java application optimization, application server middleware and virtualization.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Promote key Azul technologies within targeted ISVs and supporting ongoing Zing platform certifications
Customizes demos and benchmarks to meet customer and Marketing objectives
Drive and deliver the ISV platform certification processes
Conducts technical ISV workshops in order to facilitate a working level of knowledge with the Azul Systems products
Assists in defining the technical ISV strategy as a member of the BD team
Cultivates relationships with ISV and partners’ technical staff and their management
Tracks ISV technical issues and escalates to others in Azul Systems, where needed
Provides product feedback (ISV requirements, enhancements, etc.) to Customer Support, Engineering and Product Management
Support Marketing and BD field and online events, evangelizing the virtues of the Zing platform to partners
Travel Required as Necessary (less than 4 days a month)
Required Skills
5+ years industry experience
5+ years of experience in Java programming, system, and/or performance skills
Minimum 3 years experience as a Systems/Partner Engineer, consultant with customer focus, or equivalent experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and must speak English fluently
Technical Skills
Knowledge of Unix/Linux-style and Microsoft Windows operating systems, particularly at the command level
Practical knowledge of J2EE application architecture, including the technical interactions between the different tiers, protocols involved (for example http, IIOP, JDBC), and the different design and deployment decisions available. Experience in real-world performance analysis and performance tuning including use of leading Java profiling and J2EE performance reporting tools
Knowledge and direct experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM)
Knowledge and experience with Java Concurrency concepts and techniques, as well as with Java Garbage Collection implementations in mission critical production environments
Previous Java Software Development experience desirable
